01The challenge
The Armstrong vinyl tile was comparatively rigid and awkward to cut, and the warehouse environmental controls were still being installed. In the offices, existing carpet tiles had been lifted and stored in less-than-ideal conditions and there was not enough reclaimed stock to finish every area.
02The delivery
Warnings were raised around environmental requirements and affected areas were held until conditions were suitable. The imported vinyl was set out and detailed carefully, while the office carpet tiles were assessed and reused where practical, with new material used for one office where the reclaimed stock ran out.
03The result
The finished project combined strict adherence to an overseas corporate specification with pragmatic reuse of existing material. Programme pressure did not change the installation requirements.
